Literature- Helen's Temper and its Consequences by Mrs. George Gladstone

***Welcome! Please visit the Welcome Tab to learn more!***

What a temper our children can have at times! Isn't it true for many of us? A wonderful book addressing this matter from a Biblical perspective is Helen's Temper and Its Consequences by Mrs.George Gladstone. It's geared toward children ages 6-11 years. However, we read it to our younger ones as well and the lessons in it are a good reminder for older children and adults too.

We treasure books that Lamplighter publishes. We have a collection we read together as a family and I now have a small selection of books that our children will be reading for their Literature studies this coming school year.

Brief Summary:
Helen Smith and Betty smith are sisters. Helen is the oldest and is rewarded for her classroom achievements. Betty, the younger sister, doesn't take time to think before she answers. Out of the two, which one truly learns the lessons being taught? Find out when you read Helen's Temper and its Consequences by Mrs. George Gladstone.

There is also a quiz and an answer key which Lamplighter has created for this story.

  1. the discount code is not working! this looks like a great resource. I ordered your study guide to with the book if I can just get the book to work!

    1. Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I'm going to go in and try to correct the affiliate link right now.

And thanks so much for your purchase of the literature guide. :)

    2. Okay, the affiliate link is fixed within the blog post now. Thanks again! Blessings to you! ~Heather

  2. None of the links above are working. When I click "quiz", "answer key", or "here" for a sample, they all say "page not found".

    1. Hmmm. I'm not sure when this happened, but it unfortunately appears that Lamplighter is no longer offering their quiz or answer key for free.

Here is a link to their store where they are selling it for $3.00 (this is not an affiliate link):

However, I will try to find the time to create my own version of it for free and then link to it within this post.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

  3. Hi, I just paid for the study guide to Helen's Temper, and I am not familiar with how things work for e-books. Will you be sending me a link that I click, or will you send an attachment? Just wondering what to look for, as the trail of "what to do" ended with my payment page.
