Friday Art Frenzy: In the beginning...

{Get your free Bible Principle Art lesson at the end of this post!}

The day went by and I didn't get to my Friday Art Frenzy post as early as I planned to but here it is nonetheless!

I could have purchased black canvases but they are unbelievably more expensive than white canvases! So, we bought packs of white canvases, black acrylic paint and I went to town!

If you go the frugal route too....

  • It's important to get the paint layer juuuuuust right. If it's too thick, you'll get thick streaks. If it's too thin, you'll have spots of white canvas peaking through here and there. Once you get the hang of it, the process speeds up.
  • You'll also need to have lots of space available for drying several at a time. Depending on how many you can have dry at a time, this can take a good chunk of your day.
  • Let the paint cure for a few hours before stacking them. That way they don't stick to each other.

You might be wondering, "What?! Why did you bother?!"

Well, to that I reply, that it truly is a labor of love and you will understand when you see the lesson plan. It's an important part of the illustration for the Bible Principle. :)

I'll have to post my sample later as I don't have access to it right now. But in the meantime, you can enjoy a sample from one of my students.
