Have you read the discussion questions yet for this lesson in The Noah Plan Kindergarten Curriculum? They are great!
This year our family is researching a little bit more about giants:
This year our family is researching a little bit more about giants:
"Again there was war with the Philistines, and Elhanan the son of Jair[a] killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam." 1 Chronicles 20:5
Were you aware that Goliath had at least one brother??? I wonder if the other four giants in 2 Samuel 21:22 were all Goliath's brothers. I have read those verse before but never really gave much thought to them!
"These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants." 2 Samuel 21:22
Why did David choose five smooth stones as opposed to any other number of stones? We think David had faith that God would help him kill Goliath with one stone. So, we're wondering if there may have been four other Philistine giants in the army and that David maybe had confidence that it would take only one stone for each of them should they come after him. I don't know yet if there is an answer to that, but it's something we are pondering.
Here's what the kids did for their notebook pages!
My kindergartner just wanted to color for this lesson. :)

Kid art only lasts for so long. It's fun to see at different stages. :) I'm thankful we are notebooking because it really is very much like a scrapbook of what they are learning.
This study makes me think of Brian Duncan's song "Five Smooth Stones" on his Mercy CD. (No, this does not date me. Haha!) Are you facing some giants? This song may encourage you!
