Heart.
This is another little word that has a lot to offer. It gives me some things to think about, that's for certain.
Defining the word heart (Researching):
Webster's 1828 Dictionary
2. The inner part of any thing; the middle part or interior; as
the heart of a country, kingdom or empire; the heart of a town; the
heart of a tree.
3. The chief part; the vital part; the vigorous or efficacious part.
4. The seat of the affections and passions, as of love, joy, grief, enmity, courage, pleasure &c.

We read of men wise in heart, and slow of heart.
7. The seat of the will; hence, secret purposes, intentions or
designs. There are many devices in a man's heart. The heart of kings is
unsearchable. The Lord tries and searches the heart. David had it in
his heart to build a house of rest for the ark.
Sometimes heart is used for the will, or determined purpose.

Seeing What the Bible says about the word heart (Researching):
The Heart is Central:
"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Proverbs 4:23

Love:

It Is Revealed By the Mouth:
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
It Will Be Captured One Way or Another:

Application (Reason and Relate):
Considering all of the aspects relating to the heart, it truly is the inner part of any thing. It is a dwelling place for good and for evil. All issues of life flow from it; but God is the strength of my heart despite struggles I may have. When I go to Him in prayer I will receive peace and He will hold my heart [keep it] in custody for security; He will preserve it from falling or from danger.
I see how it walks hand-in-hand with the tongue and I am reminded that if I am having a heart issue, I especially need to bridle my tongue.
Its purpose goes far beyond pumping blood and oxygen through my system. God also created it with the purpose of entrusting it to Him; to seek Him, to desire to know Him, and to love Him with all of it. He wants me to give Him my heart and to retain His words.
It contains secret thoughts; recesses of the mind and He wants me to go to Him for a pure heart.
