Friday Art Frenzy- Eyes!

This is such a fun, purposeful lesson and the results turn out great! Why would an artist want to do artwork consisting of an eye? What could a viewer possibly enjoy about it?

Friday Art Frenzy! Painting in the Order of Creation

{Link Up your Bible Principle Art Lesson at the end of this post!}

As I was painting a landscape one day (in fact, it was the painting you see on my facebook page), I had the realization that most landscape paintings are painted in the order of the days of Creation!

*Painting by one of my students- 12 year old boy.
I often think my students' art is so much more imaginative than my own!

This amazed me! I don't know who officially painted the first landscape painting and how the order for painting was passed down to other artists, but it fascinates me that even the order in which we paint a landscape reflects our Creator God.

 Below are the quick samples I painted before co-op (it took a few minutes to paint the samples and my students had about 45 minutes to create during co-op).

*The little brown streak in the sky is an unhappy accident.

I also did a *live* painting so I could teach techniques and how to properly load the brushes we used. In the lesson plan, I show you the brushes we used, pictures of how the paint should be loaded on them, and how to apply the techniques we used.

My intent is to have the lesson plan in my store by Monday. *If you downloaded my free lesson from last week and used it, please leave a comment at this post and you can get this lesson for FREE. Thank you!

Friday Art Frenzy: In the beginning...

{Get your free Bible Principle Art lesson at the end of this post!}

The day went by and I didn't get to my Friday Art Frenzy post as early as I planned to but here it is nonetheless!

I could have purchased black canvases but they are unbelievably more expensive than white canvases! So, we bought packs of white canvases, black acrylic paint and I went to town!

Thursday Quick Tips- Dry Paint Faster!

I'm linking up with Marcy Crabtree and her Ben and Me blog for her Thursday Quick Tips!

© Principled Academy

Art is on my mind! I'm gathering my supplies for today and loading them up in my handy dandy crate. In the process, I'm grabbing my hair dryer. Yes! You read that correctly! Sometimes the drying process for water colors or water base acrylics needs a little speeding up, and my hair dryer does the trick! This sure is helpful since we don't have building space to leave the kids' art at to dry over night! *Be sure to check the paints you use to see if heat is something to avoid!

Principle of Individualty: Friday Art Frenzy Link Up!

Happy Friday!

The Principle of Individuality as seen in art is our focus for today! Since I'm teaching Bible Principles in Art at our homeschool co-op, I'll be sharing about projects we do there.

Enjoy some pics from our group lesson!

The challenge was to draw shapes anywhere in
any size on their paper as they wanted to. Then they colored them in.
